It's difficult for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have already been conquered.

This is the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a team that has accomplished all there is.

That it took as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the bowling attack that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It is hard for their hitters to hold a record if never given the possibility.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy receiving an opportunity to create her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the successful run.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the final and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

Whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Some will argue the case for final game tension. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when facing a record target and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was much more difficult to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this innings was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in the nets, it has been a disappointing period because it seemed I've had no rhythm completely," said Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your competitive nature kick in and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her key asset - and a priceless quality in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the emerging pace bowler in every game, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and after that the right-hander was on her way.

"An opportunity to go out there and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

Once she was removed her side needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - an achievable target now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm happy we have the assurance to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, if necessary, we believe we can succeed."

Those words will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this World Cup should hear.

In recent days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this success succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

During that phase they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

But while she later admitted those injuries have postponed plans to retire, this tournament is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as skipper.

Triumph in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
